The Fluxcon FLC520 is a high performance vector control variable frequency drive with a built-in STO function. This Safe Torque Off function complies with IEC 62061 for functional safety. As a result, external safety contactors are no longer required in many applications. This simplifies installation and reduces costs where emergency stop requirements apply.

High torque and precise speed control
The FLC520 delivers 150% torque from as low as 0.5 Hz without an encoder thanks to sensorless vector control. With encoder feedback in closed loop mode, even 150% torque is available from standstill. In addition, the speed accuracy reaches ±0.2% (SVC) and ±0.02% (VC). The speed range extends up to 1:1000.

Versatile use in industry
The FLC520 is particularly well suited to demanding industrial applications. Examples include pumps, fans, compressors and conveyor belts. In addition, this variable frequency drive is used for lifting and hoisting equipment, winches, elevators and mixers. General machine building with safety requirements as well as emergency ventilation via Fire Mode are also among the possibilities.

Comprehensive standard equipment
The FLC520 comes as standard with a motor temperature sensor input for PT100, PT1000 and KTY84. Furthermore, this drive features a built-in brake chopper up to and including 37 kW. In addition, a 50 kHz pulse input and output, two relay outputs and Modbus RTU communication are included. Optionally, CANopen, Profinet, Modbus TCP and EtherCAT are available as communication extensions.
Control methods and functions
The FLC520 supports three control methods: sensorless vector control, closed loop vector control with encoder and V/F control. In addition, the drive features a built-in PLC function with 16 preset speeds via I/O. A PID controller is also included for energy savings in pump and fan applications.

Protection and reliability
The conformal coated PCBs provide excellent protection against dust, moisture and chemical exposure. Furthermore, the integrated Fire Mode prevents the variable frequency drive from shutting itself down in the event of an alarm. As a result, critical ventilation and smoke extraction systems remain operational during an emergency. The FLC520 also complies with the European Directive 2002/95/EC (RoHS).
